Incredible storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat! I absolutely loved all of the character development. By the end of the book I felt like I was a part of each of the character’s lives. There are also so many unique and creative creatures that add to the storyline so well. I will be anxiously waiting for the second book to come out so I can find out what happens!

The author draws you into a new and exciting fantasy world. It’s fast paced, so you’ll find it difficult to put it down. I always find it interesting (and sometimes obnoxious) to see how male authors portray the mind of a woman, but I didn’t have to worry about that this time since it’s a female author. I’m also NOT worried about it turning raunchy and crossing into the romance genre; thank goodness! I hate it when books do that! I am thoroughly intrigued with all the new creatures. Can’t wait to read book 2!

LOVED this book, and can’t wait for the sequel. A.E. Dawson does a great job setting up a world and magical systems that feel completely their own, with great character development that flows through the entire read. 10/10 will read again.
